The Association is pleased to announce effective 18 July 2012 we are now a 501(c)(6) organization. Received IRS letter dated Sep 21, 2012.
What a 501(c)(6) means is our organization is a business league devoted to the improvement of business conditions of one or more lines of business. It is not engaged in any regular business typically carried on by for-profits.
Unlike a normal 501(c)(3) membership dues are not tax-deductible. BUT, they do qualify as ordinary and necessary business expenses.
